Bute’s curlers narrowly missed out on the Argyll Province’s ‘Last Bite’ Trophy in their final competition of the season this week.

Seven clubs took part in the tournament, and though Bute won their first three fixtures, against Upper Cowal, Dunoon Ladies and Oban, a 5-1 defeat to Dunoon Argyll in their last game meant Bute were tied with Millport on six points and seven ends at the close of play - and with the Cumbrae club having more winning shots, it was they who took the trophy.
