Curling: Bute curlers contest 125 Trophy at Braehead

Donnie MacLeod, Colin Sharp and Duncan Lyon lifted Bute Curling Club’s 125 Trophy at Braehead ice rink on Sunday.

Thirteen Bute curlers gathered to take part in the competition, with Alec Robertson turning out for his first game of the season and Duncan, along with Peter Martin and Duncan McAlister, also persuaded back on to the ice for the first time in a while.

Donnie and his rink recorded two wins – first in the morning over Douglas Macdonald, Ron Forrester and Margaret Macleod, and then in the afternoon against Alec Robertson, Donald Kinnear and Peter Martin – to take the trophy.

The other rink comprised Beck Reid, Bill Stein, Nancy Kinnear and Duncan McAlister.
