Player-coach Alan Peacock was the hero of the hour as Bute County Cricket Club pulled off a fabulous win away to Glasgow Accies’ third XI - the Alps - on Saturday.

Peacock took three wickets and a run-out as Alps were limited to a total of 98 all out, and then proceeded to post 40 not out as Bute reached their target for the loss of only four wickets.

Other notable performances with the ball came from Tim Stobart, who took two wickets in his first start of the season, and from Jonathan Mann, who clean bowled Alps’ Wallace with only his second ball, as Bute chalked up a second successive victory in the WDCU’s third division.
