Richard Harding has been appointed as captain of Bute County Cricket Club for the 2015 season.

Harding replaces Craig Murray, who is heading for Australia, where he plans to continue playing cricket and to mintain his links with his home club as an ‘associate member’.

The new captain said his predecessor would be “a hard act to follow”.

Other appointments made at the club’s recent AGM included David Mackay as chairman, Tim Stobart as vice-chairman and Greg Mercer-Brown as secretary, while Robert Macintyre and Ian Downie will continue as presidents.
