Cricket: Bute to welcome Indian touring side

A Bute County Cricket Club invitation XI will face the touring MC Lions from Mumbai in Rothesay on June 16.

A touring Indian cricket team will be given a civic welcome when they arrive in Rothesay next week to play against Bute.

The MC Lions of Mumbai, who are on a fortnight-long tour of central and southern Scotland, will play a 40-overs match against a Bute invitation XI on Tuesday, June 16.

David Mackay, Bute County Cricket Club’s chairman, said: “We are delighted that Cricket Scotland has asked us to host this prestigious touring team for one of their matches in Scotland.”

For those who would like to support the two clubs and welcome the tourists to Bute, the match is due to get under way at noon on Tuesday, June 16, at the Meadows cricket ground in Rothesay.
