Cricket: Brothers star in record Bute win

BROTHERS Mark and Guy Crichton were the star performers as Bute continued their fine streak of form with a 97-run win at home to Strathclyde in the WDCU Championship on Saturday.

Captain Mark scored his seventh century for Bute en route to a superb 125 not out as Bute finished their 50 overs on 320 for five - the club’s biggest ever runs total from a single match.

Guy made his own contribution with the bat too, scoring 77 runs, but it was with the ball in hand that he really came into his own, taking six wickets as Strathclyde were limited to 233 for eight, giving Bute victory by a comfortable margin.
