Bute Wheelers start new season

Bute Wheelers opened their time trial season with a ten-mile event on the Ettrickdale to Rhubodach course on Easter Sunday morning.

Conditions were sunny and cold with a south-easterly breeze that was always likely to make the return leg of the out and back course challenging.

Results are as follows: 1 Brendan O’Hagan 30m 55s; 2 Iain Blair 31m 25s; 3 Vicki O’Reilly 33m 10s; 4 Steven Hay 34m 41s

Junior section - 1 Lewis Blair 36m 23s; 2 Jack Deans 39m 09s

* On Tuesday, April 2 the ten-mile Time Trial from Lochend to Kingarth and back results were as follows: 1 Mike Hendry 27m 40s; 2 Shaun Lyon 29m 06s; 3 Iain Blair 30m 38s; 4 Vicki O’Reilly 34m 07s

Junior section - 1 Lewis Blair 35m 05s

* Thursday, April 4, saw the Hill Climb on the Serpentine take place. In first place was Shaun Lyon with a time of 1m 03s, in second place was Iain Blair with 1m 08s.

The junior section saw Lewis Blair (15) finish in first place with 1m 09s, Jonny Zan Kreyser (14) was second with 1 m 15s, and Callum Blair (12) in third with 1m 30s.

* On Tuesday, April 16, the ten mile time trial will be on the Lochend course and on Thursday, April 18, the Hill-climb is on the Serpentine. Both events begin at 7pm and are open to all. Junior non-members must be accompanied by an adult. For more information contact Bob on 503541
