Island resident Mike McHardy has once again been selected to represent Scotland as part of a five man Masters ‘A’ pool team at the European Championships next weekend.

Mike will join manager Dennis Masterton, Mick McGoldrick, Charlie Shaw, Jeff Matherson and Robert Hoey, all top players with various levels of achievement and styles of play, in Bridlington from April 25 to May 1.

This will be Mike’s second time at the European championships as a Masters team player - last year the team’s only loss was in the semi-final, while he also reached the final of the Masters singles, only to lose to multiple title-winner and fellow Scot Ross McInnes.

“I’m really looking forward to it, said Mike, “and I hope to improve on my performance, not only as a team player but also in the Masters open.”
