Bute Pony and Riding Club held its annual prize-giving and dance at Rothesay Bowling Club on Saturday evening.

Club chair Ruth McMillan congratulated everyone who took part in the club’s events throughout the year, despite a year fraught with injuries.

The trophies were presented by Mrs Kate Thornton, with the highlights including the 19 trophies won at the club’s championship show - though champion of champions Kirsty Ewing was unable to attend - and the Nadia’s Trophy for the highest points total achieved throughout the year, won by Ellie McMillan.

Other winners included Naomi Campbell, who was presented with the Achievement Trophy (the Howie Cup), and Maggie Catlin, who won the Reuben Milo Trophy for the best combination of pony and rider.

For a full list of the club’s 2014 prize winners don’t miss this week’s issue of The Buteman - on sale from Thursday, November 27.
