Bute curlers travelled to Ayr on Monday, March 11, to play in their final Ayr Day League game this season - their opponents on the day were a Kirkoswald rink.
Kirkoswald made the first mark in the game, taking two shots at the first end. Bute did likewise at the next end but three shots at the third end kept Kirkoswald in the lead.
A single shot at the next end narrowed the gap for Bute, but that was once again widened when five shots went on the board for their opponents.
Trailing by ten shots to three was not a good position for Bute, however, the islanders took the final three ends of the game to make the score more respectable, although not quite good enough to take the game.
Kirkoswald won by ten shots to eight.
