Cyclists from across the country are set to descend on Bute this weekend for the annual Festival of Cycling.

Organised by the island’s cycling club, the Bute Wheelers, the Rothesay Weekend, as it’s known to many of its participants, will feature the legendary Serpentine hillclimb, an individual and a pairs time trial, and round-the-island road races for ladies, gents and novices.

The weekend’s programme also includes a cyclocross race around the Meadows and Public Park area on Saturday at 5.30pm.
