Rothesay’s lady bowlers had a busy time last weekend, with a visit from Girdle Toll Bowling Club in Irvine on Saturday and the club’s annual ladies’ triples on Sunday.

Rothesay already has an established relationship with Girdle Toll’s gents’ section, but Saturday’s meeting, with four triples from the Ayrshire club visiting Rothesay, was a first for the ladies of both clubs.

After a great afternoon’s play in glorious weather, Girdle Toll were the runaway winners.

Meanwhile, ladies from Kingswood, Gourock Park, Girdle Toll, Colintraive, Ardbeg, Craigmore and Rothesay took part in Sunday’s triples competition, with the Ardbeg triple of Betty Morrow, Kathleen Bell and Liz McHugh beating Sally Powell’s Girdle Toll triple in the final.
