Fifty years’ uninterrupted membership of Rothesay Bowling Club made Dorothy Walton the star of the show at the club’s recent prize-giving ceremony.

Fifty years’ Dorothy joined the club in 1963 and, as well as serving as a past convener of the ladies’ section, has also won the club’s ladies’ championship on several occasions as well as the Argyll and Bute ladies’ triples and many more trophies over the years.

Club president Willie Whiteford presented Dorothy with a framed plaque, a bouquet of flowers and, to a warm round of applause from all present, life membership of the club.

More than 50 members and friends attended the event, during which the season’s trophies were presented by the club secretary, Julie Gilchrist.
