Forty-four competitors took part in Bute Clay Target Club’s Boxing Day shoot at Kingarth on Wednesday.

As well as shooters from the island, visitors from Dalry, Inverkip and Dunoon also took part in the event, which is firmly established as a popular fixture in the area’s festive shooting calendar.

The day’s top prize, the Kerr Cup for the open and local high gun, was won by Tam Young, who also received the Robertson Cup for the second 15, while the Dunca Cup for the first 15 was captured by Matthew Currie and the Mackinnon Tankard, the confined high gun prize, by Ronald Robertson.
