Shinty: Bute seconds cruise to away win in Glasgow

Tam McMillan scored twice as Bute Shinty Club’s second team recorded their biggest away win of the season courtesy of a 6-1 thumping of Glasgow Mid Argyll in South Division Two at Yoker on Saturday.

The island team, having already beaten GMA twice so far this season - 10-0 at home in March and 2-1 at Peterson Park in June - completed the hat-trick in fine style to banish memories of a poor display in their last outing, against Ballachulish in the Bullough Cup semi-final last month.

In addition to McMillan’s brace, Bute’s other goals came from Roddie Middleton, Arran Dunn, Stuart Stirling and Bob McKechnie; Martin Hall notched the only goal for the home side.

Elsewhere in South Division Two on Saturday, Lochside Rovers won the league championship in style with a 7-0 victory away to Tayforth.
