Golf: Port’s first Club Day is a big success

The first ‘Club Day’ of the winter at Port Bannatyne on Sunday was an undoubted success from all points of view.

A total of 19 golfers took to the 12 hole challenge and 20 dined afterwards on a meal of soup, Sunday roast with all the trimmings and apple crumble and custard, cooked by Janey Jardine and served up by the ladies of the club - much enjoyed by all.

Connor McClymont had the best score of the juniors, Elaine Thom was the best of the ladies and Jim Bicker’s better inward half from Pete Barnett secured him the sweep money for the gents.
