FRANK LEE landed his first ever hole-in-one en route to landing the R. & J. Anderson Trophy at Rothesay Golf Club on Saturday.

Frank holed his nine-iron tee shot on the par three 11th hole to capture the silverware with a net 64, off a handicap of 14, despite a hiccup on the last hole when he managed to find the bunker with his second shot – while using his putter!

Winning the competition also sees Frank qualify for the Scottish Hydro Electric national competition – a remarkable coincidence given that he works for the company.

He will travel to either Westerwood, near Cumbernauld, or to Murrayshall in Perth to play in the regional finals of the tournament, with a place in the team at the Scottish Hydro Challenge Pro-Am on the eve of the European Challenge Tour event at the Macdonald Spey Valley Resort in Aviemore in June up for grabs for the regional winners.

Just missing out on the Scottish Hydro qualifying spot was Michael Murty, who posted the same net score as Frank after a brilliant level par round of 69 but lost out after a countback.
