Jim Bicker and Donald Standaloft led their team to victory in the past captains’ four-man team event at Port Bannatyne Golf Club on Sunday.

Jim and Donald had been due to lead separate teams in the tournament, sponsored by the Ardmaleish Boatbuilding Company, but team-mates’ call-offs encouraged them to combine their forces, and with the assistance of John Black and Ivan Cowie the quartet posted a total score of 118, three shots clear of the field.

Second place went to the team representing the 1987 captain, Harry Slaven, who, along with team-mates Stuart Wilson Jack Paterson and Mark Watson on 121, while David Reid (past captain), Nicky Simmons, Mark Crichton and Calum MacPhail finished third on 124.
