Golf: Andy tightens grip on Kingarth top spot
Andy Docherty tightened his grip on top spot in Bute Golf Club’s Winter League on Saturday, topping the weekly standings with 43 stableford points.
Docherty’s tally was compiled from a gross score of 71 which included an inward half of 34, earning him top spot ahead of Malcolm Calder, who also finished on 43.
Graham Bolton scored 40 points on his way to the best scratch score of the day, an excellent 65.
Docherty leads the overall standings by four points from Richie Smith, with seven rounds to play.
