Liz starts new season on a high

Liz McMillan started the new season at Rothesay Golf Club as she had finished last year, returning the best score in the Ian Evans Stroke play competition 74 (11), and winning the Spring Handicap.

The McMillan Cup this year is being played over two rounds with four to qualify in each. Moira Gillies led the qualifiers in the first round with a 74(23). Also qualifying were Liz McMillan, Elizabeth Speirs, and Marj Bulloch.

In the second round Moira again led the field, with Helen MacLeod, Fiona Scott, Joan Torrance and Phyllis McKirdy qualifying.

The Jubilee Cup is the competition this week on both Monday and Thursday. Entry money for this will be given to a local charity decided by the captain, Fiona Scott.
