Lewis Poole from Rothesay Golf Club won the handicap prize at the final event of the Argyll and Bute ClubGolf order of merit series at Machrihanish Dunes on Sunday.

Lewis went in to the final event of the series leading both the scratch and handicap sections, and though he was overtaken by Cowal’s Chris Richmond in the battle for the scratch prize, he held on to his handicap advantage to cap a great season with a well-deserved title win.

Eleven junior players from Rothesay and Port Bannatyne travelled to Machrihanish for the season finale - for more details see the September 27 issue of The Buteman, on sale now.
