Ian McFarlane won the Hector Scott Quaich over the weekend at Port Golf Club, with an aggregate net score of 130 which included an impressive net 62 on the Sunday.
Robert Turnbull was the best of Saturday’s field with his net 64, but a net 68 on the Sunday left him trailing Ian by two shots.
His consolation is that he had the only 2 of the whole weekend at the 10th on the Sunday round, and with a healthy field on both days, it is doubtful if Robert will be worrying too much about the winner’s podium. Captain Ian Shaw took the third spot with his aggregate of 134.
Obviously the conditions of Saturday were much tougher than on the Sunday as the CSS on Saturday was 68 with reductions only and no increase in handicap, while Sunday was 66.
