The father and son Greer team carried over their good form in the Rothesay Services Winter League at Port Bannatyne Golf Club where they won third place, by being winner and runner up in The JMF Tankard on Sunday, April 20.

Despite being Easter Sunday, the sunny weather brought out a good field to contest this trophy. As is now the tradition, the generosity of both the sponsorship and the refreshment was of a high standard. The courtesy bar at the first, thirteenth and eighteenth holes was generous indeed and, in fact, more than just a few scores were over and done with after the player partook of the generous measures being poured there. However it did not hamper the Greer’s progress and with a net 62 father Alex would be a clear winner by two shots over son Alex (J) whose net 64 included two two’s.
