Golf: Turnbull wins Autumn Handicap at Port Bannatyne

Robert TURNBULL defied very windy conditions to win the Autumn Handicap at Port Bannatyne with a net score of 65.

Closest to Robert was Colin Renfrew with a net 68; the rest of the small field posted scores in the 70s or NRs. Despite the small entry the CSS was 66.

Meanwhile, Hector and David Whitelaw were the Port’s two winners on the club’s outing to Easter Moffat; despite heavy showers, all the Port players thoroughly enjoyed the four-man team format of the adult competition.

The Port’s juniors went down to defeat at the hands of their Easter Moffat counterparts, but still enjoyed the experience of playing a new course.

This weekend features the Greenkeeper’s Quaich on Sunday, with the last tee time at 1.30pm and the prizegiving at 5.30pm.
