Port Bannatyne's new golfing year began with a team match on January 2, 2015.

The annual team match between the captain’s and vice-captain’s representatives began the new year at Port Bannatyne Golf Club on January 2.

With captain Jim Bicker still laid up after his recent knee op, his mantle was taken on by the match secretary, whose team won by the narrowest of margins.

Results from the day were as follows: John Black and David Whitelaw halved with Robert Jardine and Robert McArthur; Hector Whitelaw and Arran Dunn lost to Jim Thom and Graham Fisher; Connor McClymont and Joe Livingstone halved with James Webster and Calum McPhail; Ian McFarlane halved with Matthew Dunn.

This Sunday, January 11, the Port’s golfers return to regular business with the January medal; the usual ballot arrangements apply.
