Richie Smith’s surge up Bute Golf Club’s Winter League table continued at Kingarth on Saturday when he served up his second successive winning performance.
In just two weeks the Glenburn Hotel chef has increased his aggregate total by 19 points in the stableford tournament and now leads the race for the McArthur Cup.
Despite a handicap cut of three shots following his outstanding score of 47 points on January 12, Smith again proved unbeatable on Saturday when he returned a score of 38 points to take over top spot in the league table.
He now leads the overall table on 312 points, one ahead of Andy Docherty, with Robert McKirdy next on 310.
