Bute Golf Club hosted the Firth of Clyde Wee Trophy tournament for the first time on Saturday - but it was their island rivals from Port Bannatyne who stole the show.

The Port’s five-man team registered a ‘best three scores’ aggregate of 202 - four clear of runners-up Rothesay - and it was Port player Jim Thom who grabbed all the attention, putting in his best-ever competitive performance with a gross score of 72 for a net 60 to win the competition’s individual prize.
