Port Bannatyne Golf Club's January medal fell victim to the weather for the fourth time.

Only eight brave souls ventured on to the course at Port Bannatyne on Sunday to play in the January medal competition - but in cold, wet and windy weather, all but two came back to the clubhouse with non-returns, making this the fourth time the competition has been cancelled.

Well done to James Webster and sponsor Robert McArthur for their commitment to finishing their round, sadly, it was to no avail. The competition will now be played on Sunday, March 8.

There was, however, a result in the Salmon Leap on Sunday, with Robert Turnbull winning by virtue of the better inward half from John Maltman after both players returned scores fo 24 points.

This Sunday, March 1, is the quarter-finals of the Rothesay Motor Services Winter League - see this week’s issue of The Buteman for a full list of fixtures and times.
