Golf: Only one unbeaten pair left in Port league battle

Have your say

Sam Jamieson and Roddie Shaw are the only remaining undefeated pair in the Rothesay Motor Services Winter League at Port Bannatyne - even though Roddie has been present for only one of their three games!

With Robert Turnbull as his partner for the week 4 qualifying games on Sunday, Sam defeated the previously unbeaten pair of Jim Bicker and John Marshall by 2 and 1 in a tightly-fought match to go top of League C on game difference.

The other unbeaten League C pair going into Sunday’s matches was Robert Cassidy and Jim McKirdy, but their record bit the dust after they lost to John Black and Bobby Pedder.

In League A Graham Fisher and Ian McFarlane put Robert Jardine and Mark Crichton’s undefeated run to rest with a win of 4 and 3; the other undefeated record to fall on Sunday was that of Ian Shaw and Francois Lintermans, who lost 4 and 2 to Harry Slaven and Ted McDonald.
