Golf: Nixon wins Bute Golf Club’s senior open

Alex Nixon lifted the Burnside Bowl this week after triumphing in Bute Golf Club’s annual senior open tournament.

Nixon, a member of both Bute Golf Club and Gleddoch Golf Club in Renfrew, returned a net score of 61 (85-24) to win the competition, two shots clear of nearest challenger Graeme Connor on 63 (76-13).

Jimmy Burnside, the honorary president of the club, and captain Frazer Robinson presented Nixon with his prize on Friday.
