Gary McGregor posted the best score of the day in Bute Golf Club’s medal competition at Kingarth on Saturday, returning a net score of 64.

McGregor’s score, off a gross 84, won him the second division category of the competition, while Graham McArthur led the first division competitors with a net 66; his gross 72 was also the lowest gross score of the day, beating Robert McKirdy thanks to a better inward half.

John McBride led the field in the club’s latest nine-hole stableford medal, scoring 22 points thanks to an excellent net 34, ahead of Leighton Thomas on 19 points and the trio of John Macfie, William Adam and Richie More, all on 17.
