Heavy overnight rain forced yet another postponement in the Rothesay Motor Services Winter League at Port Bannatyne Golf Club on Sunday.

The course was totally playable for Saturday’s Salmon Leap, in which the impressive Jim Thom returned a winning score of 30 points, and Sunday morning itself was a lovely day for golf; sadly, the downpour in between, which left the course totally sodden, gave the Winter League’s organisers no option but to call off the day’s scheduled action.

Sunday, March 9 will now feature the RMS Winter League fixtures scheduled for last week, while March 16 sees the December medal, sponsored by Ian McFarlane, and the Port’s first fixture in this year’s Mail on Sunday five-man team classic, away to Vale of Leven - arrangements for this to be announced.
