Dunoon staged a takeover of Rothesay this week - on the golf course, at least.

Players from Cowal Golf Club in Dunoon took the two top prizes in Rothesay Golf Club’s junior open, with Kerr Thomson securing the overall prize with a net score of 60 and his clubmate Chris Richmond taking the scratch honours after an excellent round of 71.

The best-placed Rothesay player was Alexander Varney, who took second place overall with a net 62, while Matthew Dunn of Port Bannatyne also shone, taking runner-up spot in the fight for the scratch prize after shooting a 76.
