Golf: Bute ladies compete in MacDougall Trophy

Blairmore and Strone Golf Club was the host club for this year’s MacDougall Trophy competition.

This was the first time the Bute ladies participated and although their team did not win, they enjoyed the competition and will host it next year at Bute.

The ladies did, however, have the leading individual scorer, with Liz Archibald’s 43 stableford points.

* Club competitions are reaching the final stages. Club championship finalists are Elizabeth Speirs and Ellen Eccles, whille the knockout salver final will be played by Elaine Thom and Liz Archibald.

The August Medal and Thistle Brooch was won by Liz Archibald with 72 net score.

* Tuesday, August 20, will see the nine-hole Stableford Medal take place. Ballots are at 1.30pm and 5pm onwards.
