Only four competitors were brave enough to tackle the elements in the latest round of Bute Golf Club's Winter League on January 18.

Only a handful of players braved the wind and rain at Kingarth on Saturday as the inclement weather pattern continued to play havoc with Bute Golf Club’s Winter League.

The stableford tournament has now passed the halfway stage and, thanks mainly to the wind and rain of the last couple of months, just ten of the 23 competitors have completed eight counting rounds so far.

Richie More (10) and John McBride (13) led the way on Saturday with 32 points apiece, while Andy Docherty (9) and Leighton Thomas (11) finished on 29 and 26 points respectively.

There were no significant changes at the top of the league table which is led by Docherty on a total of 315 points from his eight best rounds.
