Most golfers can only dream of landing a hole in one in the course of their golfing lives - but Rothesay Golf Club’s Jimmy Ewing now has no fewer than four to his name!

Jimmy’s ace, landing him a gallon of whisky from sponsors Mac’s Bar, came at the eighth hole in Saturday’s Gordon McKinley Stableford as the new season began in nice spring weather.

The top player on the day, however, was Colin Spear, who left the rest of the field with a mountain to climb thanks to a magnificent 47 points, six better than his closest rivals, with Stephen Reynolds, Richard McIntyre and Neil MacLeod tied for second place.
