Darren Leonard and Nicky Simmons set up an exciting finish to this year’s Winter League pairs competition at Rothesay Golf Club when they recorded the best weekly score for the second week running on Sunday.

The duo played themselves into contention for the league title with a winning score of 46 stableford points, enabling them to climb to third place in the overall standings with just two weeks left of the competition, only four points behind leaders Ivan Cowie and Michael Murty.

Angus Murray secured top place in Saturday’s singles round thanks to a better score over the last six holes after both he and Craig Charker returned scores of 40 points.
