Bute YFC's Scott McAlister heads the danger clear as Bishopton look for a way back in the closing stages of Saturday's match - the home side held on comfortably to win 3-1.

Matthew Leitch reached - and passed - the milestone of a hundred goals in three seasons on Saturday as Bute YFC’s under-16s chalked up a hard-earned 3-1 league win at home to Bishopton.

Aiming for revenge against a Bishopton side who won 4-3 on their last visit to Rothesay in the divisional League Cup in March, Bute took the lead through Ronan Officer before being pegged back by the visitors to leave the score 1-1 at half time.

But five minutes into the second period Leitch was set free after some excellent close control in midfield by Nico McBride, and the striker notched up his century with a neat lob over the Bishopton keeper and into the net.

And five minutes later the pair combined again, with another great pass from McBride giving Leitch the time and space he needed to score his second of the afternoon.
