Bute YFC’s under-17s returned to form in style on Saturday with a 4-0 league win away to Bishopton.
Matthew Leitch, Max Allan and Scott McAlister all found the net as the island side put in a fabulous team performance to notch up their first win since the end of August.
Bute dominated the first half on the 4G surface at the Ralston Sports Centre, but were unable to find the net before the break.
But that all changed just moments after the restart when Leitch opened the scoring after some sustained pressure on the Bishopton goal - and Allan soon doubled the lead when he knocked home the rebound after a great save from the Bishopton keeper.
Number three came from an unlikely source in the form of a huge clearance kick by keeper Ryan Leitch, which came off the Bishopton right-back’s head and into his own net.
And McAlister capped a fine individual display by tucking a late penalty into the net after Bishopton’s luckless right-back was sent off after handling a shot on the line.
