Bute YFC’s under-16s put league leaders Quarriers United to the sword with an emphatic 3-0 home win over the Renfrewshire side in the League Cup on Saturday.

Ronan Officer, Kalum Ledicott and Connor McClymont all found the net as the island team saw off the Quarriers challenge for the second time in little more than a month, following a 3-2 win in a Renfrewshire Cup tie in March.

After the match coach Roddie Leitch said on the team’s Facebook page: “I love football on days like today, against the odds, league leaders came to visit, result? Easy win for the local boys, EVERYONE stood up and was counted today.”
