Jane Ross’s remarkable scoring record at the start of the 2012 season ground to a halt on Sunday – but the former Rothesay Academy pupil still played her part as Glasgow City moved three points clear at the top of the Scottish Women’s Premier League.

Jane had scored hat-tricks in City’s first five matches of the new campaign - but it was Lisa Evans (2), Leanne Crichton, Christie Murray and Emma Mitchell who found the net as City chalked up a fourth straight league win with a 5-1 defeat of Hibernian at Petershill Park.

The result saw Hibs drop from second place in the table to third, with Celtic moving up despite the postponement of their fixture away to Inverness due to a waterlogged pitch.
