Rothesay Brandane began their preparations for the 2015-16 Caledonian League campaign with a 3-2 home win over Gourock on Saturday.

A youthful Rothesay side trailed to a Jamie Cameron strike for the visitors at half-time, but John McBride levelled matters early in the second half when he converted the rebound after his penalty was saved.

Wes Pattison and one of the team’s new younger players, Ronan Officer, put the Danes in control before a late own goal completed the scoring.

The Brandanes’ pre-season preparations continue this Saturday, August 1, when Ayrshire amateur side Shortlees visit Rothesay for a friendly which kicks off at 2pm.
