Pupils from Rothesay Primary School travelled to Ferguslie Park in Paisley this week to take part in a Soccer Sevens competition organised by the Scottish Schools FA.

The Rothesay P6 and P7 pupils finished third in the tournament, which was sponsored by Lloyds TSB Scotland and took place on November 14.

The SSFA’s national Soccer Sevens initiative sees primary pupils of P7 age and under take part in regional tournaments through the winter months for the right to play in the national finals in the spring.

One Argyll and Bute School - Cardross Primary, near Helensburgh - made it all the way to the national finals of the 2011-12 tournament, held at the Toryglen Regional Football Centre next to Hampden Park in April.
