Rothesay Brandane’s revival gathered pace in spectacular style on Saturday as the island club romped to a 4-0 victory away to Viewfield Rovers.

The Danes had four headers to thank for their success in Lochwinnoch, with Wes Pattison netting twice and John McBride once after a Viewfield own goal had opened the scoring.

“The team played well from back to front,” coach Jimmy Lilley told The Buteman.

“Willie Lawrence in goal pulled off a great right-handed save when we were 1-0 up at a crucial time - if we’d conceded then, the boys’ heads could easily have dropped, but instead we went on and got a second before half time.”
