Rothesay Brandane kept up their good run of Caledonian League form with a 2-1 victory at home to Viewfield Rovers on Saturday.

Chris Lawrence’s goal was enough to give the Brandanes the half-time advantage against their Lochwinnoch visitors, but the island side had no shortage of chances to extend that lead before the break - and it looked as if they might be made to pay when Viewfield drew level on the hour mark after keeper William Lawrence parried a low shot.

But five minutes from time Sean Lawrence’s curling shot was deflected wide of the target - andwhen Stuart McKechnie’s corner caused havoc in the Viewfield six-yard box, defender Scott McCormack forced the ball over the line from close range for the winning goal.
