Football: Five-a-side tournament to be held in Rothesay

The annual Calum Speirs Memorial five-a-side football tournament in Rothesay will take place on June 22 and 23.

The tournament, organised by the Help Project, which aims to provide support and advice for the island’s young people in their first tenancies, will take place at Rothesay Joint Campus and begins on Saturday, June 22 with the competition for children aged 16 and under, with the adult tournament being played the following day.

The children’s competition is being run in partnership with Roddie Leitch of Bute Youth Football Coaching (contact Roddie for more information), and is free to enter, while the adult competition entry fee is £15 per team.

The action gets under way on both days at 11am, and entry forms and more information are available from Richard McIntyre at the Help Project in Bishop Street, Rothesay.
