John McBride and Sean Lawrence found the net for Rothesay Brandane AFC on Saturday as the island club chalked up a fifth successive win to extend their impressive run of Caledonian League form.

The Brandanes’ 2-1 victory away to East Kilbride YM consolidates islanders’ grip on second place in the Caledonian League’s first division, with 31 points from 14 matches - nine adrift of leaders Dalziel HSFP, but also eight clear of Milngavie Wanderers, who lead the chasing pack in third place.

Saturday’s win also means it’s three months since the Rothesay men last lost a league match, with a 4-1 defeat away to Drumchapel FP on October 12 the last time the Danes came away from a Caledonian League fixture empty-handed.
