Bute Youth Football Coaching is facing a £150 fine and a disciplinary hearing after the club’s latest league match was abandoned on Saturday.

Coach Roddie Leitch will now attend a disciplinary meeting of the Paisley, Johnstone and District YFL to plead the club’s case after the match referee halted the home game with Johnstone Burgh when parent Ewan McTaggart went to the aid of Bute player Scott McAlister after the latest in a series of off-the-ball incidents.

“It’s an automatic £150 fine for a parent going on to the field during the game,” Roddie told The Buteman this week.

“We were 1-0 down at half time and everything was fine. We got it back to 1-1 and everything was still OK, but then Matthew Leitch scored to put us 2-1 up and all hell broke loose.”
