Rothesay Brandane AFC’s first away fixture of 2013 is due to take place on Saturday, January 19, when the island club travel to Helensburgh to take on Rhu Amateurs.

The Rothesay men are still searching for their first away win of the 2012-13 campaign - and could have their best opportunity yet to pick up full points on the road, against a Rhu side stuck at the foot of the Caledonian League first division table with just one win from seven games.

The sides last met in September 2012, when stand-in striker Chris Lawrence hit four goals in a 5-2 home win for the Brandanes.

The islanders’ good home form in recent weeks has seen them climb to seventh place in the 14-team first division, with 16 points from 14 matches, although almost all their rivals have games in hand due to weather postponements or commitments in the Scottish Cup and West of Scotland Cup.
