Rothesay Brandane AFC began their preparations for the 2013-14 season with a 6-2 friendly defeat at home to Drumchapel on Saturday - although there were plenty of encouraging signs for new coaches James O’Donnell and Jimmy Lilley to take from the game.

Wes Pattison opened the scoring early on for the hosts, but Drumchapel hit back with three goals before half time, and added two more in the second period.

Stuart McKechnie hit a second for the Danes late on but Drumchapel’s number eight had the last word with his team’s sixth in the dying moments.
